Privacy policy
This privacy page explains the kinds of information Local Past may use and how we aim to protect people.
Information connected to accounts
When someone creates an account, Local Past uses account information such as email address, sign-in details, and basic account settings such as display name.
Signed-in members can use the account data page to ask to access, correct, export, or delete account data.
Visitors and members can also use the contact page for privacy questions or GDPR-related requests.
Information in contributions
Entries may include names, places, dates, archive references, photographs, memories, transcriptions, and discussion. Public entry pages should focus on historical and local-history material.
Local Past should not expose private account data or restricted living-person information on public pages.
Signed-in members can use Report on an entry, comment, or photo when they have a copyright, privacy, living-person, or safety concern. Reports are reviewed privately; your name is not shown on the public page.
Sensitive details and living people
Family and local history can include sensitive information. Private family details, living-person concerns, safety notes, and account data should be kept separate from public browsing.
Supabase and service providers
Local Past uses Supabase for authentication. Other service providers may be used for hosting, storage, email, or analytics, and this page should name and explain them clearly before launch.
